1. Overview
FocusPort ("we", "our", or "the app") is a digital wellbeing and deep focus application built for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is stored and protected. We are committed to being fully transparent about our data practices.
FocusPort is operated by an independent developer. For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, FocusPort acts as the data controller of your personal data.
đĄī¸ Guest Mode: If you use FocusPort as a guest (without signing in), no data ever leaves your device. All session data, streak records, and preferences are stored locally in your phone's private app storage only.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of data to provide and improve our services:
- Account Information: Name, email address, profile picture URL, and a unique Firebase user ID (via Google Sign-In).
- Usage Data: Focus sessions, duration, completion status, streaks, total focus minutes, and user-configured schedule programs.
- Diagnostic & Analytics Data: Aggregated event telemetry (app opens, onboarding completions) and crash logs collected via Google Firebase services to improve app stability.
We do not collect sensitive personal data such as passwords, payment card numbers, or financial information directly through our app.

None of this data leaves your device. It is stored in Android SharedPreferences, private to this app only.
đ Signed-In Users (Google Account) SYNCED TO CLOUD
When you sign in using your Google account, we collect and store your name, email address, and a unique Firebase user ID to identify your account and sync your data across devices.
- Focus session records (start time, duration, completion status)
- Streak count, best streak, total sessions completed, and total focus minutes
- Exit key / Hammer balance (number of keys available)
- Emergency app selections and recurring focus schedule rules
- FCM device tokens (strictly to facilitate remote cross-device session triggering between your linked devices)
- Last completed session date and migration flags
- Premium status and trial expiry timestamp
Your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore and is associated with your Firebase UID. It is stored securely on Google Cloud servers and protected using Firebase security rules.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data to:
- Provide and maintain app functionality, including tracking your focus sessions and progress.
- Sync your data, hammers, and schedules across your devices when you are signed in.
- Manage your account, trial status, and authentication.
- Process purchases and unlock premium features via Google Play.
- Improve app performance, stability, and bug resolution.
- Provide features such as streak tracking, milestones, and usage insights.
4. Permissions We Use
FocusPort requests certain Android permissions strictly to enable core focus enforcement, scheduling, and insights. These permissions are used only as described and are never used to harvest personal data:
- Accessibility Service: Detects app switching during active focus sessions and provides on-device real-time short video & adult content filtering.
- Device Administrator: Locks the device screen during active, user-initiated focus lock sessions.
- Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Calculates app usage breakdown and screen time insights in the Tracking tab.
- Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Renders the focus guard overlay to prevent bypassing during active sessions.
- Exact Alarms: Wakes the device precisely on time to trigger user-scheduled focus routines.
- Query All Packages: Populates the emergency app selector with apps installed on your device.
- Notifications: Delivers session countdown alerts, status updates, and scheduled reminders on Android 13+.
5. How We Use the Accessibility Service & Content Protection
â ī¸ FocusPort uses Android's Accessibility Service strictly during active, user-initiated focus sessions to restrict distractions.
Core Enforcement: The service detects when a user navigates away from their session to a disallowed app and immediately restores the Focus Lock screen.
In-Browser Content Protection: During an active session, the service momentarily inspects web browser address bars on-device in real-time to block short-form feeds (e.g. YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels) and adult content. FocusPort does not collect, store, or transmit text, form inputs, search history, or personal browsing content from other apps through the Accessibility Service.
The service automatically goes idle whenever no focus session is active. You can revoke this permission at any time via Android Settings â Accessibility.
6. How We Use Device Administrator & Anti-Bypass Protection
FocusPort requests Device Administrator permission solely to lock the screen during active focus sessions initiated by the user. It is not used to wipe your device, enforce password policies, or monitor device usage outside sessions.
Anti-Bypass & Uninstall Protection: To prevent impulse distractions, access to system settings, app managers, and package uninstallation is restricted solely during an ongoing active focus session. The moment your session completes (or an Exit Key/Hammer is used), all restrictions are immediately lifted, and you can freely access settings or uninstall the app.
7. Emergency Apps & Phone Calls
FocusPort ensures you are never cut off from critical communications:
- Incoming phone calls are never blocked.
- Standard phone dialers and emergency contacts remain accessible at all times.
- You can configure essential emergency apps (e.g. Maps, Notes, Calculator) to use freely during sessions.
8. Exit Keys & Hammers â In-App Purchases
FocusPort offers "Exit Keys" (represented in-app with a Hammer icon đ¨). During a focus session, session enforcement features remain active until the session is completed or an Exit Key/Hammer is used. Users are clearly informed before starting a session. Exit Keys allow users to end a session early, but doing so will result in loss of streak progress. Without a key, the session must be completed to exit normally.
- Your first Exit Key (Hammer) is granted free after completing your first focus session
- Additional keys are available for purchase via Google Play Billing
- Your key balance is stored in Firebase (signed-in) or locally (guest)
đŗ Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through Google Play. FocusPort does not collect, store, or have access to your payment details such as credit card, debit card, or bank account information. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Google Play.
9. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal data or use third-party advertising SDKs. We use trusted Google infrastructure providers which process data on our behalf strictly to deliver app functionality:
Google Firebase (Firestore, Auth, Cloud Messaging)
Used for cloud data storage, Google Sign-In, and cross-device session signaling. Governed by the Google Firebase Privacy Policy.
9a. Analytics & Diagnostics
FocusPort uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregated app usage patterns (such as cold start rates and milestone completions) and crash logs to improve app performance, battery efficiency, and stability.
10. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud services). We take reasonable measures to protect your data using secure technologies provided by Google. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will take appropriate steps to notify affected users as required by applicable laws. Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country.
11. Data Retention & Account Deletion
We retain your cloud data for as long as your account is active. You may delete local data at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the app from your device.

You can request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated Firebase records (UID, email, session history, and key balances) by emailing us at

"Delete My FocusPort Account". All cloud records will be permanently purged within 48 hours.
12. Children's Privacy
FocusPort is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take immediate steps to delete such information.
13. Your Rights
Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request complete erasure and deletion of your cloud data
- Withdraw consent at any time by signing out or removing permissions

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using FocusPort ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users, including guests and registered users.
2. Description of the App
FocusPort is a digital wellbeing and productivity application that helps users maintain concentration by restricting access to distracting apps and system settings during user-configured focus sessions. The App uses Android's Accessibility Service, Device Administrator, and related system features strictly for this purpose, and only during sessions that the user initiates.
3. User Accounts
- You may use the App as a guest without creating an account
- You may sign in with your Google Account to sync data and purchases across devices
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google Account credentials
- We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms
4. Exit Keys & Hammers â Purchases & Refunds
Free Key / Hammer FREE
Every user receives one (1) free Exit Key (Hammer) automatically after completing their first focus session. During a focus session, session enforcement features remain active until the session is completed or an Exit Key is used. An Exit Key allows you to end a session early; doing so will result in loss of streak progress. Without a key, the session must be completed to exit normally.
Additional Keys / Hammers PAID
Additional Exit Keys are available for purchase through Google Play. All purchases are final and non-refundable once a key has been consumed. Unused keys may be eligible for a refund through Google Play's standard refund policy within 48 hours of purchase.
Exit Keys (Hammers) are consumable items. They are not transferable between accounts and their value cannot be redeemed for cash. We reserve the right to adjust pricing at any time; previously purchased keys are not affected.

5. Premium Features & Subscriptions
Certain features are available only to Premium subscribers, including additional schedule slots, expanded emergency app slots, and studio ambient soundscapes. Premium status is obtained through in-app purchase via Google Play Billing. We will provide notice of any material modifications to premium features.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to bypass, reverse-engineer, or disable the session enforcement mechanisms of the App
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Share, sell, or transfer your account or Exit Keys to another person
- Use automated scripts or tools to interact with the App
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our Firebase database or backend systems
7. Permissions Disclosure
The App requires specific system permissions to function. By enabling these, you consent to their use as described:
- Accessibility Service: Detects when you leave the app during a session and restricts distractions / in-browser short feeds â only during active, user-initiated sessions
- Device Administrator: Locks the device screen during active focus sessions initiated by the user
- Display Over Other Apps: Shows the focus lock guard overlay mid-session
- Usage Access: Provides focus statistics and screen time breakdown in the Tracking tab
- Notifications: Delivers session start, countdown, and status notifications
All permissions can be revoked at any time from Android Settings. Revoking core permissions will disable related functionality.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the App will be available at all times or completely error-free. Productivity outcomes vary by individual, and we make no guarantees regarding the effectiveness of focus sessions for any particular user.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FocusPort and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, missed third-party notifications, or device compatibility issues resulting from the use of system-level permissions.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. To request deletion of your account data, contact us at the email below. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the app will cease immediately. Any stored data will be deleted upon verified request.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts located in India.
13. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to technical failures, internet outages, or third-party service disruptions.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and FocusPort regarding the use of the App.
